Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Christmas as much as we are enjoying ours!
White Christmas is ringing through my head…we had a blizzard (!) last night, temporarily canceling the grandparents’ plans and leaving us home on Christmas Eve. This morning the snow is piled high everywhere! The Lord is so good to give us the little tiny things that aren’t really important, like snow on Christmas!
Last night as we sat around drinking tea together before bed, I was just struck again at what a wonderful life I have.
I can truly say that I am perfectly happy and content. I didn’t used to think it was possible to be so, but it’s true. I am totally happy with where I’m at right now. If a man is in my future this year, yippee. If not, that’s great, too. With my family around the Christmas tree last night, I realized that I have everything I need and want. To see the kiddies’ face lighting up this morning as they opened the presents I chose, hoping they’d like them, seeing Prissy finally old enough to experience these things, watching the snow swirling out the window, making memories, like my dad roasting a whole pig in a pit in the blizzard (!), was wonderful. I really have a wonderful life. And a new chapter of my life may open up this year. If it does, I will be so happy I can’t even imagine it. If not this year, I’m still so happy. I have my family with me. And that’s all that matters.
In the midst of the fun and family, we must not forget the real reason for the season. The world is going all out trying to find peace, but we know where peace can be found. It is only one place, only one person. Over two thousand years ago our Savior was born. And He is the only one who can give the peace the world wants.
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.
Merry Christmas!
