    Behind Every Clark Kent…

    Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

…there’s a Superman. During the last few days, I’ve been thinking more about exactly what one “notices” in a person. Like when a girl would notice (or be attracted to) a young man, not because of his character, but because of the way he looks. When girls are younger, they get this romantic ideal in [...]

    Top Ten Literary Heroes

    Monday, April 27th, 2009

I found this fun tag of sorts on Ribbons of Light, a fun blog I found recently written by a fellow costume-drama fanatic. The “rules” are to list your top ten favorite heroes from “classic” flims (i.e., films based on classic books). This was hard because some of my favorite heroes (e.g., the man in [...]

    Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover…

    Monday, April 20th, 2009

Hello, everyone! If I’ve not been on here, it’s for a good reason…we’ve been at the Hurons! We had SUCH a blast, and pics are coming soon!!! We’re heading to North Carolina now, so I don’t know if I’ll be back this week…but meanwhile… Many of you I’m sure have heard of the amazing Susan [...]

The Girls Sing on Easter Sunday

    Monday, April 13th, 2009

This Sunday at Providence Independent Baptist Church, the girls were able to sing a special with Pastor Mowery’s girls. It was really sweet and they did a great job! You can hear the girls’ songs, Christ the Lord is Risen Today and Jesus Saves here. More photos of last Sunday are on Providence’s website.

    Finally…

    Monday, April 13th, 2009

I PASSED MY WRITTEN TEST!!! I NOW HAVE A PERMIT!!! I was so nervous that I was going to flunk again. But I studied a lot and the questions weren’t as hard this time, somehow. (What was it about practice… ) Oooh, boy. It hasn’t really hit yet that now I am allowed to drive. [...]

Christ the Lord is Risen Today!

    Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia! Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia! Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia! Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia! Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia! Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia! Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia! Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia! Lives again [...]

    The Old Rugged Cross

    Friday, April 10th, 2009

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame; and I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain.   O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, has a wondrous attraction for me; for the dear [...]

    Montpelier

    Monday, April 6th, 2009

While in Virginia we were able to visit Montpelier, the home of James Madison. It was a treat for the Regency in me. We weren’t allowed to take pictures inside of the house, so you’ll have to be content with the outside. The Front of the House The little “temple” thingie which also served as [...]

    Martin Luther’s View on Schools

    Monday, April 6th, 2009

“I am afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell, unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them in the heart of the youth.” –Martin Luther

    A Year Ago…Tribute to a Great Man

    Monday, April 6th, 2009

Yesterday has been a year since Charlton Heston died of Alzheimer’s. The world lost an amazing actor and a great conservative. At the time I didn’t have a blog yet and I was so upset because I wanted to post some sort of tribute but didn’t have anything to post it on. So I thought I’d [...]
